Channeling - a term used in reference to the claimed process of receiving messages or inspiration from invisible beings or spirits.
Clairaudience - Hearing voices, astral music or discarnate beings.
Clairoleofactor - To have an extraordinary sense of smell, as if you could smell flowers before they bloom or smell trouble before it occurs or death before it happens.
Clairsentience - The ability to clearly feel yours and/or another's emotions and sensations.
Clairvoyance - is the apparent ability to gain information about an object, person, location or physical event through means other than the known human senses,a form of extra-sensory perception. A person said to have the ability of clairvoyance is referred to as a clairvoyant.
Cleansing - A less ritualized form of exorcism, where-in a dwelling or site is purified and malevolent influences are banished through prayers, spoken as the petitioner moves through the area.
Cold spot- a term used by paranormal practitioners to describe an area of localized coldness or sudden drop in temperature that they claim to be the result of paranormal activity.
Cross-species Communication - To have a special rapport and understanding with animals, plants or alien beings.
Crystalalomancy - The art of gazing into a crystal globe, a pool of water, a mirror, or any transparent object. The person may put him/her self into a hypnotic state to see visions or to summon forth spirits or demons.
Crop Circles - are patterns created by the flattening of crops such as wheat, barley, rapeseed (also called "canola"), rye, corn, linseed and soy.
The term was first used by researcher Colin Andrews to describe simple circles he was researching. Although since 1990 the circles have evolved into complex geometries, the term "circle" has stuck. Various hypotheses have been offered to explain their formation, ranging from the naturalistic to the paranormal.
Crypto-zoology - is a pseudoscience focused on the search for animals which are considered to be legendary or otherwise nonexistent by mainstream biology. It consists of two primary fields of research:
* The search for living examples of animals taxonomically identified through fossil records which are considered to be extinct, such as dinosaurs.
* The search for animals whose existence lacks empirical support but which appear in myths, legends, or undocumented sightings, for example Bigfoot and el Chupacabra.
Cufos - The Centre for UFO Studies. It was founded in 1973 by Dr J. Allen Hynek, after Project Blue Book, in 1969, and NICAP, in 1973, were dissolved. The organization is based in Evanson, IL and they publish the annual "Journal of UFO studies" and the bi-monthly "International UFO Reporter". Death - is the permanent termination of the biological functions that define a living organism. It refers to both a particular event and to the condition that results thereby. The true nature of the latter has for millennia been a central concern of the world's religious traditions and of philosophical enquiry. Religions, almost without exception, maintain faith in either some kind of afterlife or reincarnation. The effect of physical death on any possible mind or soul remains an open question. Contemporary science regards organismic death as final by definition.
Deathbed Experience - A deathbed experience or Death Bed Vision is a powerful, comforting experience the dying and their family members often encounter just before death occurs. The dying will report visions of angels, deceased loved ones or religious figures moments, hours, days or even weeks before actual death takes place. These visions typically lessen the fear of dying and make passing an easier transition for all concerned.
Dejavu - Certain events and experiences seem as if you are re-experiencing the event or situation that has happened at another time. As familiar as the experiences are, you cannot recall nor figure out when they happened.
Demonology - One who studies and practices the art of demonology. An individual who specializes in the removal of evil or demonic forces from a given environment using the art of demonology. One who brings demonic forces out of their slumber to be cast away. Someone who uses the art of demonology to incantate demons for ones use in battling them.
Direct Voice Phenomenon (DVP)-is defined as a paranormally produced voice, often in seances conducted in the presense of a physical medium.
Disembodied Voice - A voice or sound heard or recorded that comes from no physical body or known source.
Direct Writing - Direct writing is when spirits actually write using any means. This can be done by slate writing or by pen and paper.
Divination - The obtain unknown knowledge or future events from omens. Astrology may be considered divination.
DMILS - Abbreviation of Direct Mental Interaction with Living Systems. Used to denote instances where one person is attempting to influence a distant biological system, usually the physiology of another person. As it is unclear whether this represents an influence (see psychokinesis), a case of ESP on the part of the influence (see ESP) or an opportunistic selection process, the term 'interaction' has been adopted.
Doppelganger - German for "Double-goer." A person's duplicate or identical counterpart, seen as a result of bi-locational or astral travel. This phenomenon has been overshadowed by the more modern (and viable) concept of cloning, with its speculative ramifications.
